Sad Dreary Day - DEPARTURE such sweet sorrow
Sea Horse
AVHQ Dive Club
Friday we only did the early morning dive. The Dive Club had to have their “no fly time” (nitrogen builds up in your system which can cause the bends if you fly too soon – so you ‘don’t dive’)
For the afternoon we did a Canopy Tour. You sit in a little sling and slide down a cable totally controlling your own fate. You are the steering, the brake, without putting your hand in the “lose a finger” spot. It was a blast. Over an hour of gliding from perch to perch down the mountainside. We ended up on the water and then got to visit a new park with a touch of Honduran history and animal life. There were several parrots and monkeys out loose and both jumping on us and landing on us. Quite the photo op.
Then Friday night we toured west bay town, roatan. we watched the sun set. we had dinner at Juan and Alejandras argentine restaurant. they took great care of our table making us feel very special - even coconut pie! (i love them)
Saturday morning the sun refused to shine in honor of their departure. Dark gray clouds filled the sky, huge rain drops fell and the Dive Club boarded a boat off Coco View Island to the island of Roatan and the awaiting flight home.
As soon as they were gone the sun came out and I went diving. I finally had a chance to photograph a seahorse.
