The day of Royal Gorge @ Canon, CO.

What President Rosevelt said about the Royal Gorge:  "The Royal Gorge is one of the finest scenic spots in the whole of the United States. More and more this scenery of ours in the Rocky Mountains is being recognized as a national asset by people all over the country."

After climbing across the bridge, up the hill, 

and viewing from all angles, I went and rode the train.

"In 1906, an act of congress, signed by Theodore Roosevelt granted the land surrounding the Royal Gorge to the city of Cañon City as a park for the use and benefit to the public."

This was a very big day driving an hour down and back plus all the climbing and walking.  I was one tired tourist when I finally got home.  What's next?     -Skip
