I ran into
Hugh on the dock this week. He’s been
here at my marina a few years. His
sailboat is the envy of all. Everything
is first class. I asked him if he was
ready to “take off and sail away?” He
got a sad look and said, “No, I’m 72 and I’m too old now to go.” (I heard on the dock his
boat is worth over a million and he’s asking $750k)
I started
thinking, how old is too old? When we
formed the Bauer Dive Club in 2000 you guys were 30 and I was 43. Now you are 45 and I’m 58. I miss the diving and comradery. But I’m not too old to sail away.
I guess I’m
just saying, “don’t let go of your
dreams!”
