Monday was a Victory for our side!
Kevin the bike mechanic/golf cart repairman/diesel mechanic
pulled the fuel pump out. (so we could
replace the washers on the furthest, backside, bottom banjo fitting to stop the
fuel leak) We only broke one fuel line
in the process… it was old and rusted
stuck. The fittings on it were rounded
off from use. It crumbled like an old
pretzel.
After everything was removed and we got our parts list, I
called ‘my guy Leo’ in Houston at Diesel Parts Sales and he had
everything in stock, except one gasket, and overnighted it to me for delivery
today. $65. PRICELESS!
So I’m sitting here on the city dock awaiting parts. It’s a derelict old empty dock covered in
Seagulls and their byproduct. (correction,
there is one 26’ half sunk sailboat tied up down at the other end.) I have zero internet at this location. So I’m carrying my laptop to shore to make
communications. That’s about it, I’m on
hold.
