The adventure has had some ups and some downs. I cant wait for my leg to heal so i can get out and get on with life here in Stuart. It's been a very sobering reminder to be prepared for emergencies! To ALWAYS wear your safety gear, to have your First Aid supplies fully stocked and ready. (plus have that info included in your pre-sail briefing with the crew.) Thanks to all my visitors and crew for the great help along the way. I know i could not do this without help from others. It takes a village to raise a child and an entire Marina to help me sail away and to also find land...
I used this a year ago and it's NO less fitting now: Craig's mother Diann Yakel sent me a lovely quote: "Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover"
(i think Ken Yakel said this? then Mark Twain stole the credit?)
Thank You to all my friends who email, call and check in to the Blog. A very special thanks to my family for putting up with me - all my life - and especially since i became the Prodigal Son.

8.7.17 - Hair today, gone tomorrow!
Today while i was in wound care i got them to trim the back of my hair. I couldn't figure out how to trim a straight line back there to even it up. I knew the nurses had some trimmers because they had shaved my leg around the bandage to stop pulling hairs. I'm just letting YOU know so you can imagine how handsome i am from the view of me sailing away...
