Operation Clean Air Complete

I'm sending out a special shout out to my two ladies at the kbm Marina, Thanks Rosa and Julie for cleaning up the horrible stench.  The crews did a great job netting all the millions of tiny dead fish.  They also took special care to power wash the docks and the parking lot.  I can now, once again, open my hatches to fresh ocean breezes instead of the oily dead fish stink of death!  Great Work Everyone!

Have a very Happy and Safe Memorial Day Weekend.     xo Skip

there are now only the few occasional specimens who have also succumbed to the lack of oxygen.  but it's so much better by comparison.  it's almost back to 100% normal.

There are still some dead crabs slowly floating out with the tide and 1 dead rake.

just compare the single dead now to the view from Monday!!!!

Dead Fish Day # 2.

Today a crew started scooping up the dead fish.  The smell is stronger now if you can believe it.  (maybe it was just because i was standing with my nose in the large trash can?)  They started down at B dock.  I'm on J dock so i hope they get to my boat before the weekend.  I am so excited at the thought of fresh air and cant wait till things are cleared up.

Dead Fish Smell

A work photo:  The CDA Presents Staff
___________________________________________________________

Have you ever been fishing and forgot the bait?  Did you leave it in the cooler for a few days?  Do you know what that smells like?  can you imagine that?  Well multiply that by several thousand nasty igloo's....  Now you know what i walked into today.

I got in today from a week long work trip to California.  (don't even mention that American cancelled my return flight and i had to stay in an airport hotel overnight)  The latest surprise are the Dead Fish in the Marina.  Millions of little silver stinkers.  The Marina guys told me it's "lack of oxygen in the water" that killed them.  Heck if i know...   but they are sure dead and starting to stink.  The California show went fine, but being home stinks!  Life aint fair.

Spring 2014 and better late than never?

Happy Mother's Day!

Here is a photo from our 3rd annual Possum Kingdom gathering.  Thanks again David for hosting a great visit.  It was even warm enough for some to hit the 'cool' water.  Kudos to Buzzy who managed to ski a little. I chose to remain in the comfort of the shade on the boat.

I am so very far behind in my writing. ..   We enjoyed a lovely spring in Kemah.  the winter was very mild and the weather -thus far has been quite beautiful.  Unfortunately it will turn Summer any day now.  to that end i put up my Boat Shades.  (thanks again to Tom and Christy Schlinkert of the Shade Tree)  *do you remember the story of when i met Tom & Christy in Mexico?  circa 2011, on the island of Isla Mujares.  Photo*  i had been studying on-line for some type of shades for my boat and had shortlisted Shade Tree.  Then as fate would have it, who should i run into in a tiny bar, on an island, off the coast of Mexico, but the owners of Shade Tree.  note: Tom and Christy are in the extreme right of the photo.  they are the cutest couple.  scroll down to the bottom of the post, to the photo of people eating scorpions out of the tequila bottle.

I recently purchased some new Sailing Equipment but have yet to have it installed.  Add that to the to do list.

For work i have done two shows so far this year.  both were in new orleans.  (insert photo of dirts, nasty, stinky streets and drunk people here.)  My next show is in Anaheim across from Disney.  the other extreme.

Here are a couple of food shots. I'm still not skinny.

I hope you are enjoying a great Spring and that your summer is not too hot, too dry, too much work.

Xo,  Skip
