The Road Trip, PART of the trip

It all started with a request from Craig and Angela to come to Huffman, TX.  and shoot photos of their horses and new ranch.  I got to work with the trainer Eloy Perez Jr and his lady friend, Dawn.  We worked on that project for four days taking horse photos.

Angela and Craig Yakel

Then I drove up to Fort Worth TX
to visit David Cox and his lovely wife Scooter.  We were in school together.

After the Fort Worth leg of the trip I drove further north to McAlester, Oklahoma to visit my brother Steve and his family.
Front: Steve, Susan Williams.  Joe, Bethany Daniel.  (son in law, daughter)
Back: Skip, Lynn (sister), Liam, Noah Daniel

Finally after Oklahoma I drove over to Searcy, Arkansas to visit with Lori and Ellis Sloan.  Ellis is my financial advisor for Schwab, so we had a business lunch to plan the world.
Ellis, Lori, Treva Pryor, Skip  (Treva is Lori's mom and my neighbor growing up)

Lori and I visit Ellen and Tim Walker.  The Walkers were neighbors on the other side of us.

Ellis, Lori Sloan AND Hannah, Abdallah Malkawi.  Hannah is my niece and Abdallah is her husband.

The Long Road home...   I am stopped for the night somewhere in Mississippi.  I was so tired it was time to get off the road, type this post and rest for the night.  (the hotel staff is having their Xmas party next-door at the Mexican restaurant.  Let's go CRASH it.)

Oops, almost forgot.  On my first night on the road, Dec 6th, I stopped in Navarre Florida to visit with Cam and Robin Prock.  Now my plan is to finally arrive back home tomorrow or the next day.

Happy Holiday!  Skip

The Yakel Castle at the Ranch

 Home, home on the range....

Angela and Craig 'chillin' on the back porch.

The Yakel Ranch is a little bit country.
And very beautiful.

The Farrier Came and went

"A Farrier is a professional who specializes in the care of a horse's hooves and lower legs.  Farriers trim, clean, and shape a horse's hooves, and then select, fit, and nail new shoes onto them. They also remove old or damaged shoes, and check for bruises and cracks."

Frank the Farrier
Frank is 'just the right size' for bending over working on hooves.

$160 per horse, every six weeks.

Eloy came over to do some horse training and help shoe.

We even got a delivery of hay and feed that afternoon.

Horses are a LOT of work!
