5 year old English Speaker

 

Friday when I sat down at the bar, there was a very cute young lady sitting by me.  She was snacking, but not drinking.  I asked her name and her mom told me.  (Sorry, I dont remember her name, or the mothers.)  I do remember that she's 5 years old.  When I asked her, she made the universal fan of the hand showing me all her waving digits.  She was very shy.  Every question I asked was answered by a head shake.  Her mom told me, "she does not like to speak English because they make her use it in school."

I asked the 5 year old if I could take her picture and got a definitive NO headshake.  (mom said it was OK)  It was only when it was time for them to leave that she turned to me and gave me a big smile for a photo.  (she acknowledged me, gave me permission, and allowed me to take this.)  

I hope all the girls at YOUR bar are this cute!

A book and its cover

You cant judge a book by it's cover.  Down here there is no 'fast food.'  No drive throughs.  It can be challenging to pick a restaurant.  A 'good' one.

From the street here is what you see.  

I got word from a friend that, "it's a great place for lunch."

When you are brave enough to walk through the front door, here is what you find.

I chose the grilled chicken sandwich with fresh brewed ice tea.  Delicious.

The Staff: NOT Murderers, Rapist's, Thieves, Drug Addicts, or

really bad people...  instead, my friends & damn good cooks!
