Amsterdam-it

I took the train back up to Amsterdam.  Easy Peasy!

Now, they were working on the tracks somewhere causing me to have to switch trains twice, but I made it.  "So easy a child could do it"...  (I think I got lucky and never did get to relax watching so closely.)

Tomorrow morning I'll walk to the train station and take my last train to the Schipol Airport for my flight home.  It's been a lot of fun and family time, both in Maastricht and Porto.  Thanks to all of Europe for putting up with me!

Maastricht NL

I'm back in Maastricht, Limburg province,

The Netherlands.

The Old Wall built around the city in the 11th Century

The city of Maastricht is a very old place built with a wall around it, in the Eleventh Century, to protect it.  Currently it's a 'big college town' with tons of kids (~22k students) riding bicycles and walking to and from classes.  The City was dying about 40 years ago and so they donated lots of old buildings all over town to the College and now the place is booming!  Just about anywhere we walk we come across a College building, but no big main campus.  No dormitories. You can tell where the students are by the bicycles parked outside.  (blue tires are rentals)
