Good Friday 4.10 Passage

(typical day: wake up and enjoy french pressed coffee, catch a massive Dolphin then wash clothes.)

.

Good Morning Bahamas! I'm up early enjoying a light breeze out on the docks. (sitting close to the wireless antenna seems to work best for email) it appears that the other cruisers are asleep and not using the net now - so more bandwidth for me.

.

Craig is also working on his Panasonic Toughbook laptop. it crashed a week ago and he is trying to download all the updates for windows, Norton antivirus and get his "saved data" back usable. it's been a 'tough battle' for him.

(drop the hook in 10ft of water)

.

Today we are going to sail down to the edge of the Bahamas, Mayguana. this is the jump off spot for crossing to Hispanoila Island. then we will sail along the Domincan Republic to Puerto Rico. Today's sail is going to be all day, all night and arrive by noon tomorrow. ~28 hrs. this will be practice for our crossing to the D.R.
.

Last night Angela cooked a killer roast beef in the pressure cooker. cut it with a fork. yummy sailors are happy sailors. still have 2 more meals of Mahi Mahi and lots of other stores aboard. we will not starve soon.
.

.

The Bahama islands are very VERY flat sandy dry places with small scrub bush and few trees. the water is crystal clear and shallow. yesterday our entry into this marina was not very well marked. (not a follow the yellow brick road welcome) a few very well spaced channel balls floating out in the coral beds. you could see the coral peeking above the water between waves. (running aground on that ruins your day)

.

Well, we've gassed up and are ready to go. so i'll close for now. more to follow later, after we find another internet connection. it 'could' be days. if there's not on in Mayguana then it will be all the way over in the DR.
.

Sunny, breezy and cool now in the shade. about 70 degrees with a high today of 79.
