I met a 'local' guy, father of a local guy, who actually lives in Tallahassee. He drove all the way down here to Apalach yesterday to meet me and say 'that he didnt want to go.' (funny) I am networking and meeting more and more locals and getting some word of mouth started. Something will turn up.
Why? My insurance covers me as a single sailor, but only in daylight hours, within 50 miles of shore. This passage will have some night hours, ergo the second sailor required. So i went to shore and Met Mike age 73 from Tallahassee. Today i'm going to go meet some more folks and keep beating the bushes.
note the blackbirds leaving their roost at sunrise to go out and do bird things.
Butterflies fly through here on their way to Mexico. It's a little early in the season.
(i might see the entire migration the way things are going?)
While waiting on Mike to drive down from Tallahassee i visited the 'old graveyard'. *note: i met a local guy sitting on a tombstone in the shade. (smart) he said he came there to catch a breeze and work. He was drawing on an Oyster shell and offered it to me for $2. "but first i have to finish coloring it in" he says. So i let him finalize his artwork and bought it. (should have shanghaied him!)
And then more fishing!
note: they had poles, spear guns and tanks. said they did both (till sharks came)
note; Mike had 2 kayaks on his car.
I hope YOU have a full boat for your passage! -Capn Skip

Love that seashell art! Maybe you could work in the graveyard with that guy if you run out of money.
