Gasparilla
to Ft Myers via the ICW Wow what a day...
After two days of motoring (with no sails or wind) down the
coast and out in the Gulf, we are going to motor today inside the ICW. ICW – Intercoastal Waterway. Last night we were treated to a breathtaking
sunset of colors on one side of the boat and the full moon rising on the
other. Some days it’s just like that.
EQUIPMENT MALFUNCION about 30 minutes after we started
today. The impeller – in the water pump –
chewed itself up. This caused the engine
to overheat. So, barely started and had an impeller go bad. Had to anchor for 2 hrs just outside the ICW to fix it. That puts us 'arriving' into Ft Myers AFTER dark, so we are changing our travel to anchor at a little island enroute. Chino Key.
more later. gotta run drive the boat! -skip
I got up at 5am to make coffee and found the LPG gas was empty. So that's the start of the day...
We are at anchor now and cooking dinner, at Chino. It's dark and calm, with cooler breezes tonight. We are making a Casa dePollo Medley, with Corn bread. Last night was a Pork Loin with veggies in the pressure cooker. *note: See the 'white trash' photo at the end with our rags hanging up to dry at anchor. I'm so proud to have Arkansas on painted on my boat!
