I left Texas August 7th, 2016 for Florida. I was 'Hot' in Texas, but I was also connected to the dock and had air conditioning. Now i'm on the mooring ball in Marathon, with no AC and when the breeze dies - so do I. It's sweat making, slick dizzy hot in the sun. If you are in the shade and have a breeze it can be pleasant. So somewhere between "I'm gonna die"and "dont move or you'll sweat." (sit still in the shade like a lizard) (i've been hanging out in the public library enjoying the AC and pretending I can read)
This all takes me back to those French nude bathers and how they bathe in their cockpit. Well i'm learning French and started my lessons again today. *one difference, I put up a sun shade around my cockpit so my neighbors can look away and not see me. (like David and Bathsheba on the rooftop) According to the Hebrew Bible, "Bat Sheva," more commonly known by the name Bathsheba was the wife of Uriah the Hittite and later of David, king of Isreal.
Last August when I was at anchor in Destin I started my French bathing lessons and got pretty good at pretending, that others pretending they could not see me, couldn't.
Well, it's full on dark and I gotta go. I have my towel and soap. (French tools)
I just hope it does not rain tonight. when it's hot and sticky, it's pretty steamy to have to close up all the hatches.
see ya. (but you cant see me) - French Pirate Skip
ps. With the breeze coming off the water i 'almost froze' during my cockpit shower. so maybe I just need to stay in the cockpit naked all day? (sorry for the disturbing mental image.)

Or you can get in that wonderful clear blue Ocean water. Sombrero beach is a short dingy ride away and I found many lobsters right in boot key harbor. Do not be scared, get the salt water on your skin! Feels great and you will be much cooler, all good pirates do. Have you been in since you got to Marathon?
Or you could run that nice generator for a few hours.
And have you considered St Augustine, Linda and I really liked it. Although it is busy in the summer. And it's not nearly as hot in the Chesapeake and even better in Maine. We didn't run our AC at all last summer. Rod
