A Friday bike adventure.
Friday morning i went to the YMCA and did a standard workout. But when i got home it was so lovely - after a solid week of rain - that i decided to go on a bike ride. There was a shoreline road that i had not investigated toward Jensen. It's just over the lower bridge across from the marina. I was lucky enough to have the drawbridge come up while i was peddling across it. The bridge keeper rings a warning bell and then lowers the crossbars across traffic, then finally raises the bridge. I was peddling across when the bell started ringing. I got off my bike thinking i would take some photos. But i was in 'no mans land' the area between the car dropped, stopped arms. Nobody can be inside those when the bridge is up. Well i didnt know. I look up and the bridge lady is waving for me to get back on my bike and peddle across. The bridge stayed down, the boat was closing in, the traffic was stopped and she's up there waving at me to "flee no mans land" so she can raise the bridge. I learned another lesson that day.
I was peddling along and started smelling smoke.
I thought it was something on fire.
I didnt recognize it as Barbecue.
Then after two blocks i rounded a corner to find Mrs. Peters Smoke House.
Can YOU say, "Smoked Garlic Salmon Fingers!" Incredible.
Oh, and i cut my hair.
It's great to have two legs again! Living Large on the East Coast.
