I look back now on what i did last week and dont really have a list of accomplishments. i did laundry and read 3 books. I cooked some great dinners. *Conch one night. (3 Conch @ $6US. my last purchase was 4 for $12) I went to Beach Church on Sunday and then trivia at the St Francis resort Sunday night. the other day i met Johnathon at the dive shop to work on my outboard. I went to have my two empty dive tanks filled. i emptied them cleaning the bottom of Prodigal and wanted to be ready in case of any emergency diving needs. Anyway the dive shop has Johnathon work on their outboards. This is the one i bought used for $300 a few weeks ago when nephew Ryan and friend Bart came to visit. The old owner told me, "it runs sluggish like the carburetor needs work." But it runs! Anyway mid week it got sluggish on me. i could not get it to speed up. it would run and not die but would only very very very slowly putt along. Johnathon knew what to do - or try. He removed the fuel filter and emptied it finding chunks of black crap. (looked like crumbs from a brownie) Obviously these 'crumbs' could clog the carb. After making sure the gas was getting to and through the carburetor, we changed the spark plugs. Now the engine screams and goes so fast it scares me. I am sure i need a new carb or minimum a rebuild kit, but none of that is available here. So i'm happy it starts and runs.
I am still on hold trying to get my torn sails mended. the Haitian sail maker Chestner is supposed to return 4/3rd and i plan to be knocking on his door then to get my Jib sail back operable. After i get sails again I can start my transit North through the islands to other locations.
For now that's all that's going on. I'm reading another book from the George Town Public Library with 2 more waiting in reserve. It's Monday and tonight is 'Rake and Scrape Music' at Eddies Edge Water Cafe, so i'll go attend that. It's a little like Zydeco, only add add some Soul and Creole music into the mix.
