I'm back in Texas. Again.

 Santa Clara, California

I flew out to Santa Clara for some quick consulting work.  ETS and Kevin Gorman hired me to assist with the AI & iot show.  It was work.  I remember now why I retired!  Sorry for the delay in reporting, but it was a quick whirlwind tour and hey, it was WORK!

I feel like I've been travelling a lot lately.  Like constantly since May?
At the end of May I started OPERATION MOVE.  To sail Prodigal and now Sell her.

It's really been a whirlwind of travel.  End of May I drove my car to Kemah Tx, got a rental and drove back to Florida and the boat.  Picked up crew of Cam and Cox along the way and then we sailed down to Marathon in the keys.  Cox flew out of Key West back home and I got two more crew: Charles Anglin and Doug Haye for the sail across the gulf.  BUT a hurricane blew up so we sailed up to St. Petersburg instead.  That crew of 3 flew home and I called cousin Rick to help me finish the last leg across the gulf.  THANKS to all 3 crews for their help!!!   After arriving in Kemah and getting all my personal belongings off the boat I took it up to Arkansas for storage - dragging my car along behind the Uhaul.  Turned around and drove back to Kemah... to Craig and Angela's house.  Spent about a week there doing "boat stuff" and then drove up to Colorado for the month of August.  Next adventure?  Drive back to texas in September AND visit my sister Lynn in Amarillo and brother Steve in Okahoma. Spend a week at David Cox's house and then fly to the Netherlands to visit my other sibling Jane.  I spent about a month with Jane and her husband Ruud and the wonder dog Hakey.  We toured all over and into Germany and Belgium.  It was a blast.  Upon my return I went on a site visit to extreme southern Texas to see if I might want to spend the winter there.  I spent a few days in Brownsville and then McAllen.  I looked at South Padre, Corpus Christi, Aransas Pass, Portland, and Rockport.  None of these south Texas spots quite fit the bill.  After my return from the site visit, I flew to Santa Clara for work.  OK, now you are all caught up.  What's next?  I'm not sure.  Kinda flying by the seat of my pants.  Ive never been retired and on land before.  My plan today - as I type this - is to drive north, visit family and friends and find a place to live.  (It aint easy being an unemployed homeless AV vet)  I'll swing by Arkansas and get my golf clubs out of storage and get some other clothes.  (i packed July 10th and the weather has changed!)  Then I am driving back down into Florida and look for a warm winter spot to rent.  Hang on, here we go!         -skip
