Napa Valley after Java

I finally arrived home - well, to DFW airport at 11:15'ish tonight. they had the terminal 'kinda blocked off' and cops everywhere inside. we were told "there's a situation" and asked to evacuate the baggage claim area... after standing around too long i went outside to see if the "situation" had changed. this is what i saw - bomb squad vehicles, cop cars, firetrucks, ambulances. it seems there was a "suspicious looking package" in an area further down the terminal. finally someone retrieved our luggage and carried it to the corner of the room where we were allowed to 'mass gather' - tired and more than a little "suspicous!" (all's well that ends - well?) the poor people in that other portion of the terminal are probably still huddled together in some hallway waiting to be let go. it was probably someone's dirty laundry.

Earlier today i stopped at the Golden Gate Bridge for some photos...

Java show San Francisco 5.06

Oishii - (oy - e - she 't) Means 'Delicious' - in the Japanese language. <click here.**

We met two Photography Students at dinner. It sounded like she said................ "good shit," (which i asked her to repeat several times) when she spoke with her mouth full of spicey tuna... the cultural difference made for a rare treat. 'rots of raffs for reveryone.'

A shot of me in my lunch room. (actually it's my storeroom) we have a work schedule from 7a-11:30pm with no breaks... so the client has catered lunch and dinner served in my office. the crew bought me an apron to wear "in my kitchen." today was Fajita's with carrot cake for desert. we served 75ppl. (got the most compliments on the carrot cake and the teramisu - fri lunch.)

Last night i left work early (7pm) and met a former client and friend, Jackie Reese, w/ husband - Jay, and precious son - Aidan. More laughter and great food. "mixed mustard/collard greens and sweet potato pie." yummy!!

Bridget and Doug from the dinner.

STAY TUNED** trip to Napa Valley and the wine country later today.
Greg & Susan Harris have invited (allowed) me to come up to Yountville - their home for a visit over the weekend. i will be relaxing and enjoying some quiet time and wine tasting... "too yummy!" photos to follow.

Sat. 5.6 Las Vegas

I worked in Las Vegas this last week. no big surprise there. more of the old same, same.... HOWEVER - last night i got to see a show. Sir Tom Jones. wow what a great job. he danced and sang without stopping for 90 minutes. his voice sounds exactly like it did the first time i heard it all those years ago.

gotta run now to catch my flight. -skip 5.6Sir Tom Jones - live in Vegas 5.5.06
