Depart Tue AM for Panama City, FL

OK, it's getting late.  So i'm going to make this quick and give you the short version.  I accidentally erased all my Waypoints off the Chartplotter this morning.  (it's like the dog ate my homework)  All my hours of careful preparation were taken away - gone.  I didnt have the 'bread crumb trail to follow to find Panama City.'  So i spent all day, off and on, working on restoring my work.  I finally figured it out and fixed it at 8pm.  Now i've eaten a sandwich and am dog tired.  (same dog that ate the homework)

I did the prep work to depart in the morning.  So the plan is still on for coffee and then hit it.

Here's the weather for tomorrow in Panama City.  Nice!  I am going to attempt to move every day for the next three days.  Tuesday sail to Panama.  Wednesday sail down the coast to St. Jo.  Thursday go inside the ICW to Apalachicola.  This is quite a bit different than sitting still for two weeks.  Let's see how i do.
My worry now is the big unknown of the ICW.  see all the twists and turns of the Intercoastal Waterway on this closeup chart.
If the engine gives me trouble i'll have less time to react.  This is a little unnerving.  (Fear of the unknown)  But i'm anxious to get moving and start working my way down the Florida coast.

For those of you starting the game late, here is the link to follow along.  http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0mPbH03djypXIuLxPkf2HPYWOR691Gn4b

Destin and preparing to transit

Checking weather and routes to Panama City.
I posted my blog last night and thought i was done for the day.  Off the clock.  When BOOM they started a big Firework show in the harbor.  I still have not quite figured out Destin.  But it's a great place to visit....  Oh well, back to work!

Today i will tie down everything on deck and get ship shape again.  Pull up my anchor (to confirm i can) then reset it for the night.  Check all the engines - and replace the 10 micron filter now before i start - and get ready to depart.  Put the outboard back on deck and strap down the dingy.  The weather window looks good.  Now to double check all my routes and start a countdown clock...

Exciting times at sea.    -Capn Skip
