Back aboard - Prodigal is good.

I'm back on the boat.  She's fine.  All is well.

I left Searcy, Ark on Tuesday and made it to Montgomery AL to watch game six of the World Series.  Wednesday i drove all the way back to Sarasota arriving just minutes before the start of game seven.  i sat in the Marina bar till they closed that and then found a restaurant in the Marina with a TV.  But that also closed - except - the bartender stayed working on his 'closing up' and he and i watched through the 9th inning.  When they rolled out the tarp on the infield we had to call it a night.  i read about the victory later after making it out to the boat.

Everything on board is good.  EXCEPT an Osprey took residence in my rigging for two weeks and made his bird droppings into a Jackson Pollack spray.  I spent a couple of hours today working on the decks and will hit it again in the morning.  It was really pretty disgusting.  An Osprey is bigger than a blackbird, or a Sea Gull.  Imagine if a pony could fly and sat above you pooping for two weeks.  That's what my decks looked like.  Nasty!

Our weather this week in Sarasota is incredible!  A little warm in the day, but not too hot with hatches open.  A little cool at night, but not too cold with hatches closed.

I'm trying to catch up.  ON EVERYTHING.  it's taking a few days, or weeks.   #1.) the internet is SLOW so the blog suffers.   #2.) a bird pooped all over my decks  #3.) i had zero food in the fridge. (i emptied both fridge and freezer and left them OFF.)   #4.) i was tired from travel.   ***Now i'm compiling a list of to-do's and deciding which emergency is also a priority.

i went to the Doctor yesterday to have my 2 stitches removed.   *i had a MOLE biopsied when i saw my regular Dermatologist back on Aug 5th.  (we departed on the boat 8/7th)  Their office called me to inform me that very next week, 8/12th that it was NOT cancerous, but 'atypical' and i should come in to have it removed.  (like i would turn the boat around and go back for a mole?)  So when i went through Kemah a few weeks ago to get my car i had the regular Dermatologist remove the mole.  (dead center of my lower back, ~ 4" above my beltline)  She put in 2 internal stitches and 2 that "had to be removed in two weeks."  (i felt like Dad and i "could" do that, but i preferred a more gentle trained hand.)  Plus while at the Doctor i wanted to get a flu shot and my annual physical with all the associated blood-work.  So that was yesterday Friday.

My first priority was some food and the bird poo.  i didnt want to track poo all through my dwelling! Today i'll make water and do some more clean up.  (yes, the bird poo is up, but not 100% clean, so i'll be back out there on that, and rinse with fresh water)  Imagine me on the deck with a scrub brush and a 5 gallon bucket on a rope.  throw bucket over, pull up and sling water, apply soap, scrub, rinse with bucket.  cuss, then start over.  (i'm not too fastidious about appearances, but stepping through 20 ft of bird poo makes me want to do some basic cleaning!)  So, now i have some food in the fridge and blue bell in the freezer.  life is starting to look up.

i have classical music on the radio, the Cubbies took the series, i'm going to get another cup of coffee and keep trying to get the Blog updated.  Life is good!     ooxoxox  Capn Skip

ps.  yes, a nap has priority over the other stuff for today!
