Honey! I'm home....

I got in late last night - FINALLY, from a long day of travel. Upon review today of my many photos, i can see why i was tired.  I burnt the candle at both ends on the 24th, Friday.  I awoke in Puerto Aventuras (on the east coast of Quintana Roo, south of Playa del Carmen) then drove to Chichen Itza for a few hours of Mayan photos and sweaty jungle walking. This was followed by more driving to Merida and then on to Progresso on the upper / western edge of the Yucatan.  Progresso for a late lunch and yet a few more hours of sweaty photo walking along the beach and docks.  I can see now that i should have been tired!

Here are some photos of Puerto Aventuras and some of the people i met along the way.  Tomorrow I'll post photos from Chichen Itza and Progresso.  Everyone i met (except two) gave me permission to take their photos.  Without exception - everyone was friendly and warm.  All over Mexico, everywhere i went i was greeted with friendship and a smile. (i often smiled first, but we shared that.)

I dont understand the housing, the Government housing, or how it gets built or occupied.  But it was interesting to go through the many different areas and see identical houses going up and how people have adapted them to their own style.
