Sunday 8.14 Pensacola

"This is the day the Lord has made,
let us rejoice and be glad in it."

I got up at my regular time and decided to walk up through town and find a church to offer thanks to God for sparing us from any hardship and allowing us a safe passage to Pensacola. Any church would do.  I knew it would let me know when i saw it....(I am reminded of Jonah in the belly of the whale when thinking of a true comparison of our crossing.  I think Jonah was in the whale 3 days, while we were in Prodigal four.  But the similarities are still close enough)

When i walked up to the Methodist Church i figured it might be 'the spot.'  Four old guys were sitting out front on a bench in the shade drinking coffee and talking like old men do.  I asked them if a visitor might find a cup too?  So they directed me to the coffee and invited me to join them.  We talked about the weather and where i was from and what i was doing there and how long i was staying.  Then i was invited in to worship with them.  It was a nice service and i'm glad they adopted me.  Jesus loves them and I do to...

Now tomorrow its time to start getting ready to move down the coast.  First fix the steering...   more on that later.  Bed time now.  Pirates need their beauty rest too!        xo Skip
