I'm working in San Diego this week. They are also hosting the America's Cup this week here. These photos are from my hotel window yesterday in the rain. today it's crystal clear and bright. should be a great week for some fast races here in the SD bay.

hope you are enjoying your day too.

Hey Mom, there's a helicopter in my backyard...

Truth be told - I was a few minutes late to work this morning. The Apache helicopter distracted me. They had parked it in the lot over the weekend for some promotion at the marina. Then this morning 'early' it was going to fly back to the airbase. "was going to." but a real dark nasty cloud front crossed just west and north of us causing them to be grounded till the Airbase allowed landings. (the pilot said, "i would rather be sitting here wishing i was flying, than be up there wishing i could see down here." then he recounted a tale of a time he was 'being stupid' and flew into a cloud. "it will make you find religion real quick when you cant see anything.") There were lots of Cops, Firemen, and looky-loos like me. we got a great tour of the craft and i got to climb up and take some photos into the cockpit. The two pilots were just sitting waiting till the airbase gave them permission to fly it home. (about ten miles) "We'll be leaving in 20 minutes." then twenty minutes later - "in another 20 minutes." and so the story went....

Have YOU had a helicopter in your backyard before? This one took off today just behind me. When it lifts off you can see the mast of my sailboat where it was hovering...

No Pirates were harmed in the making of this video!

Happy Birthday to Us. three years aboard

a·board   [uh-bawrd, uh-bohrd]
1. on board; on, in, or into a ship, train, airplane, bus, etc.: to step aboard. as in 'all aboard.'

I have been living on the sailboat for 3 years. i am no smarter, but i have learned a lot... Monday of this week i had the boat hauled out and surveyed. (my insurance company requires an out of water survey to verify the value before they will insure it. it passed. it's valuable.)

Work is going well. I am still managing conventions and the checks don't bounce. that's a job.

Tuesday i got a new Crown. now, i realize that no one cares about my teeth. but i have to write about something and this is a non-fiction Blog. i am having no trouble eating. i have not lost weight. maybe i should have half pulled, then i can make my ideal weight?

That's about it. I have a show in San Diego this month. Next month some friends from work and i are chartering a yacht in Belize. (you'll see more about that later) All is well on the water.

stay warm and dry wherever your travels take you!
