A very long day of good karma

The Circus came to town... I was on Prodigal this morning and listened to the Cruiser Net.  They have a silly VHF radio show each morning where they welcome new boats and say good bye to departing vessels...   Anyway, someone came on the radio and asked for a ride in to the marina.  "Our dinghy arrives today and we please need a ride to shore."  (i remembered when i first arrived and had to be towed to shore from out there.)  I knew that it was karma giving me a chance to pay it back...   So i volunteered to give them a ride.  Then i sort of adopted them and gave them a ride in my car as they needed some help.  (trips to; Ihop for breakfast, West Marine, Home Depot, Verizon, a Dinghy dock.) These three, ages 25 and 26 arrived from eleven days at Sea, sailing up from Panama.  They dont have an engine on the boat...   No engine.  No life-raft, no dinghy.  KIDS!  I helped them till 3pm when their dinghy was up and running.

They anchored WAY, WAY OUT!  it was about a 30 minute boat ride each direction, to get them and then into the marina.  Tanner, 26, is the boat owner.  They found Aluis (Al-oo-ees) just before leaving Panama and he agreed to assist them.  Aluis is from Switzerland, living and working in Panama on yachts.  Liz is a horse trainer and raises horses in North Carolina.  Tanner bought the boat in Panama after his last one was damaged in the Puerto Rican Hurricane last year, and then stripped by Pirates into an empty hull.

Aluis, Liz, Tanner
Tod and Sheila, from Augusta GA, drove down Tanners new dinghy.

Unloading the new dinghy
Sheila recently had a FALL on some ice and broke her 'butt bone.'  She rode all the way from Augusta Ga lying on her stomach in the back seat.  (really)
Sheila cant sit at the meal, so she stands.

WE made quite a group of crazies, not to be outdone!  Sheila lays down forward.

OK, we were outdone!
I was working in the marina later when these three barefoot guys walked in.
"just arrived from New Orleans on their sailboat."

I tested the super hot shower tonight - after sunset - and it rocked!  2.5Gal is plenty.

I hope you have hot water for a shower!
