Wednesday and Little Harbor, Abaco Bahamas

Prodigal is in Little Harbor.  safe.

We sailed through a 40 knot squall and arrived about 5pm into Little Harbor to tie up on a mooring ball.  We will stay here for a day and rest, then leave Friday for Hope Town.

Cousin Rick and I sailed today from Spanish Wells up north to Little Harbor in the Abaco Island chain.  We sailed out in the Atlantic ocean about 50+ miles today and i'm worn out.  We hit a squall, or rather a squall hit us.  (A squall is a sudden, sharp increase in wind speed lasting minutes, contrary to a wind gust lasting seconds.) We saw it - clearly - on the horizon coming toward us and reduced sail before it hit, but it was still pretty spirited.  The wind of about 8-12 knots all of a sudden got cold, rain and then blew 40 knots.  It lasted a few minutes and then eased off and we sailed on through it.  (cant outrun it)

So, from here on we will be 'inside' the reef between islands.  the islands shield you from big waves and seas.  But we cant fish for Mahi Mahi now as they like big deep water.

We will hang out here again Thursday and rest, then head to Hope Town the day after.  After that we will ease into Marsh Harbor where Rick flies out on Tue.
