Family Reunion 2010 - Kemah

I have gotten behind on my writing.

Daily life and chores has been piling up and i have been waiting for something exciting to write about. Like today i wanted to put new washers into the faucets in the back bath. ('aft head' for you boaters) they had been dripping slowly so i thought i would just remove them and replace the washers. a quick trip to Home Depot and it's done... wrong. these are old boat faucets. neither the sink nor shower could be found still on the shelf at Home Depot. (i wanted to just replace the guts on one) so i have to buy all the parts; #8-O ring, #10- O ring, flat assorted washers, rounded assorted washers, packing gland teflon string, silicone paste. Next step dissasimble everything and wire brush off all the rust and crud. well you guessed it, it's all stuck together and impossible to take apart. so my little project that was gonna take 15 minutes and cost $3.00 ended up taking 5 hours, $50.00 and still drips, but now it's in a different spot. so maybe i'm doing something right? oh heck, three of the faucets dont drip.

Last week we had a family reunion here. Williams Family Reunion. it was my year to plan it, so I chose to have it here at the Marina where i live. (MISTAKE) it would have been easier to have it somewhere else so i could relax. i had to attempt to play host for every waking moment from Tuesday through Sunday. I sure hope they had fun. It was a novelty for most as they had not been to this coast before and i took them out on my sailboat. It was fun for all i'm sure. we ate seafood and even had special guests: Tom and Cub Cammack were here. Also Craig and Angela came over from their marina and joined us. Lots of laughs were shared.

We did have a misshap Friday. Grandmom got overheated and had some heatstroke resulting in a trip to the ER. (i feel a little bad knowing she asked me to 'pick her up a straw hat' at the store and i forgot)

Next year neice Bethany is responsible for organizing everything. Remember, dont forget grandmom's hat!

Happy Fathers Month to all.
