The Williams Family Reunion 6.8-10.6

Eureka Springs, Arkansas

/ was the location of our annual family reunion this year. We stayed at Promise Mountain and really enjoyed all the space available in the 'retreat center.' With the open air design and large central room there was more than enough space for our family. Lots of home cooked meals, puzzles and charades. plenty of laughs and memories shared by my siblings and their families. Eureka Springs is an old town full of very old houses and buildings. (dating back to the 1800's) lots of tourists in bright clothes and sunburn walking around buying stuff. plenty of harleys with touring gear rumbling through town going somewhere all the time - like bee's swarming a hive. the historic town is cute built up and down the hillsides. we didnt see the passion play but we did have Grandmom Lill make apple pies. everyone had fun!

Kerrville Folk Festival

camping

This was a return trip for me to the Kerrville Folk Festival. If you can ever see it YOU’VE GOT TO. This year was the 35th annual and it has only gotten better with age. Still lots of hippies and tie dye. It runs in the spring late May – early June for 18 days. Plenty of fabulous and famous performers have hit the stage over the years. (the 2 favorites for me this weekend were: taxi chain and south austin jug band.)

Taxi Chain
Dar Williams
Ray Wylie Hubbard
Austin Lounge Lizards
South Austin Jug Band
John Flynn
Los Texmaniacs
