The Train from Maastricht up to Amsterdam for the Museums.

Some things got too ugly in Portugal,

so I flew back to the Netherlands!

____________

Once in Maastricht, NL, we took the train up to Amsterdam.
Here is Scarlett chill-axin on the train.
Scarlett and my sister Jane in Amsterdam.

Jane, Scarlett and I visited the Van Gogh Museum.
Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch painter, generally considered to be the greatest after Rembrandt van Rijn, and one of the greatest of the Post-Impressionists. He sold only one artwork during his life, but in the century after his death he became perhaps the most recognized painter of all time.  Van Gogh died on July 29, 1890 in Auvers France, at the age of 37.  He passed away from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
I put my heart and my soul into my work,
and have lost my mind in the process.

Not a Van Gough, but one of Jane's favorites.

It was a FANTASTIC experience
to visit the Van Gogh Museum.

The Red Vineyard is among Van Gogh's most dramatically colored Provençal landscapes, but it is also famed for being the only painting that Van Gogh is certain to have sold. It went for 400 francs (then £16, or $20US) at a Brussels exhibition in March 1890, four months before his suicide.
