Apalachicola Day1. / Call it Exploring

OK, first the rumor is true.
Wendy Colson - Harding U, circa 1978 DID drive over
and meet me today on the docks in Apalachicola.  It was a fantastic rush to see him.

The balance of the day was a self guided tour of the town to find a: grocery and laundry mat.  I have both loaded in my mental GPS for tomorrow.

Other points of interest: 1.) i did a history tour of some old house.  2.) i met Charley and Kit from Chattanooga Tnn.  3.) i took about a billion photos of all the cool houses and buildings.  4.) i want to show you where i'm anchored.

Charley and Kitt.  I stopped to visit with them for about 4 minutes and they ASKED to be photographed and included on the blog.  Kitt (on the left) took my photo for his blog...  funny stuff.   this was at 2:47pm   At 6pm i'm having dinner and two ladies at the table next to me asked about the soup i had eaten.  we talked a minute or two.... then their husbands showed up about 20 min later.  You guessed it - Charley and Kitt.  We all had a huge laugh.  It seems the husbands had told the wives they met me and the ladies thought they had made the whole thing up.  SMALL WORLD.  (in addition i saw another couple on bikes and they were sitting at a table on the other side of the room.  i stopped and spoke to them on my way out.  she says, "yeah it's only about 2,000 ppl.  you are gonna see the same ones alot.")

Wendy and the 'outlaws'

I am sorry i didnt write down the Family Name of this old house.  But it's old and i toured it.  Florida Parks and Recreation took $2 from me for the privilege.

The spot where i'm anchored is also 'the bend' in the river and a pass through where small fishing boats cut through.  The most pronounced thing i've noticed thus far is the amazing current that floes in and out with these tides.  The boat never turns with the wind, she stays with the tides.
