An Art Auction in Ajijic

Sergio Unzueta Flores, 'a local art guy', is having a surgery and needs funds for his medical bills.  So the local art community gathers around to help their own.  Donated works by local artist were auctioned off to help pay bills.

I WANTED to bid on this painting, but I didnt have enough pesos in my wallet!  Normally this original oil Efran Gonzalez painting would go for about 8,000 pesos, but bidding started that day at 2,000 pesos.  (8000 pesos ~$450us)
All three paintings by Efran and all out of my price range.

"Serve them Tequila and they will buy more."  -Efren

Efren auctioning off a painting (that he painted) saying,
"the artist died too young, so the value has gone way way up."

Efren Gonzalez, local, famous artist.  Efren was MC, auctioneer and general funny guy.
He has a local art studio and also manages the Ajijic Museum of art.  He is easy to like.

I didn't get any beautiful paintings, but I did get some artsy photos - FOR FREE!

People I've met Version 2

Tomorrow, Wednesday, is exactly four weeks since I arrived in Ajijic.  I'm still exploring and meeting new fun individuals.  Here is version number two of some folks along the way.

Never get into a staring contest with a Mural.
After five minutes I wanted to call it a draw.  He refused to look away.  After ten minutes I gave up and left.  I still dont think he has blinked!
