Playa Coco - Costa Rica

Yesterday the sun finally came out and the clouds cleared off the volcano. it never did erupt. but if you look at the summit you can see steam coming off it. It's still active, just quiet during our visit. After breakfast we drove down from the mountains to the coast. the rest of the visit will be on the beach. IT'S HOT HERE on the beach. it's the start of their summer.

Dinner: Red Snapper. $12

I'm now in Playa Coco on the beach. Coco is a tiny little village with lots of restaurants and bars. Our hotel is rated as ONE STAR. adequate without feeling 'fluffy.' dont waste money on creature comforts. (im not complaining, just giving you a feel for the place) Right now im sitting out on the pool deck/patio/restaurant of my hotel. Hotel Coco Palms. ($65 per night: dbl, dbl with fridge, microwave.) the beach sits about 100 yards from our front door. *photos of all that after i take them...

gotta run now for some breakfast. ive been up drinking coffee and just finished book number one, a John Sanford novel and started book #2, a John D. MacDonald.

Happy Holiday. i'll post more photos tonight. xo Pirate Skip
