Ajijic Mexico in a lovely boutique hotel

Day 1.  Fly from Tampa to DFW, then to Guadalajara.

Catch a cab to my hotel in Ajijic on Lake Chapala.

My adopted family in Ajijic
Buskers on the Malecon  (Busker: a person who performs music or other entertainment in the street or another public place for monetary donations.) (Malecón: is a word used in Spanish-speaking countries, and especially in nations of Latin America, for a stone-built embankment or esplanade along a waterfront.)

Burrito Al Pastor  (it was way too big)

Guard dogs on the roof

It's great to be here!  I was asked today if I was 'mad?'  No. I'm euphorically happy.  Silly, giddy to be here in Ajijic.  Yes, i was very disappointed that the Oaks decided to tear down my Villa, but I was not 'mad.'  I was, maybe slightly angry that they lied to us about what was going on.  I was not happy that they, the Oaks, have known for many many months they planned to tear down my house but waited till the 9th hour, to the very last legal limit by law before they told us the residents.  THAT was kinda "shitty."  But I dont think I was mad.  I am most definitely not mad now.

I didn't realize how 'busy' i had been back in Florida the last few months, but upon arrival in Ajijic I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off me.  I think having the Oaks tear down my house, the move into the tower, the move out of the tower into storage and then the next day flying to Mexico was more stressful than I knew.  I had no idea what I was going to do down here and had not had enough free time to study on it.  (i was busy packing)  Now that I'm here, I don't care.  Maybe today I'll do nothing?  I'm OK with that.

Now a little about Ajijic.  The little city does not really wake up till about 10am and then it starts to heat up and traffic builds.  The city bus station is down the block and we sit on the main drag, so we have a string of busses constantly going back and forth.  That and the cars and trucks of the worker bees make for a constant hum of traffic sounds.  It bothered me last night when I was ready for bed.  It bothered me for about 20 seconds.  Actually it's like white noise in the far background.

But this is only Day 1 of being here.  I'll need a few more to really understand it.  (what's Friday night gonna be like?  Where will I happy hour?  You know, the important things)

Day 2.  I started - after breakfast today - by going to the closest local bank to get 7,800 pesos for my rent this week.  ($440US)

Anne Perry the hotel owner.  Expat from Tulsa OK

At 2pm I was invited to attend Claudias birthday party.  A good time was had by all.  These folks know how to throw a party!  (then i took a nap - a siesta - before a late dinner.)
