Bike Riding in Florida

My Old Bike on the East Coast
After having my $700 Raleigh touring bicycle stolen back in 2016, I started buying cheap Pawn Shop bikes. Remember, they were living on my sailboat and rusted out in a couple of years, so bikes were very temporary and expendable. NOTE: on the back is a cutting board from Goodwill with a Walmart storage box attached for storage. The 'nicest' thing i had was my expensive 'tractor seat' and my horn.
These are typical East Coast rides. About 2-4hr and about ten miles.

My NEW Bike on the West Coast
My Trek Verve 2 electric assist bicycle for the young and the restless. It has an Extra Large frame, 2 baskets to carry my groceries, or whatever. It has a governor at 18mph and goes ~60ml.
A long 4hr ride and 42ml
A typical ride @ 31ml and 3hr.
I always thought electric bikes were for the very old or the very lazy.... till i rode one. They ROCK! On a visit with my sister Jane back in the fall of 2021 I had the opportunity to ride on their 'new electric bikes.' Be WARNED: if you dont want an electric bike, dont ever ride one. I still have to peddle and I still get exercise, but I go faster and farther. I intentionally bought a model that wont move unless I peddle. So, I'm still getting exercise. I'm just seeing more and enjoying it a Hell of a lot more!
