The Cutest Family of beggars!
This mom and 4 little ragamuffins hang out up on the main road at the Oxxo store. (like a 7-11 without gas pumps) She opens the door for patrons, accepting tips. I first met them and was taking their photo when a lady exited the store and 'acted like a self righteous Karen telling me NOT to tip them. "Those kids should be in school not out begging." Then she made her best ugly stern face and stomped off to get in her expensive foreign car to drive home.'
I ALWAYS stop and take their picture, "when they are working"
and then give them a massive tip!
When the kids see me, they jump up and yell and wave!
I'm not sure about any economic dynamics my giving changes, but the smiles are worth my money! How much do YOU think this smile is worth? (What would YOU tip her? pls leave your answer in the comments below.)
Naptime? Older brother was working the door while Mom shielded the smaller ones.
