It's Summer and HOT

From Prodigal - Kemah, TX. 6.26.09

i got behind on my writing. sorry. i think i got busy with work and stuff and just haven't kept up. (not that you have really missed anything)

#1. i had a family reunion. the Williams immediate family - Gore Oklahoma on Lake Tenkiller. (family and nephew 1yoa)

#2. i rode Harleys from Pig Trail Harley in Rogers Ark. (i rented mine for $119 per day) rode with my old high school buddy, Cam Prock. we went over to Eureka Springs, down to Mount Magazine and then north up to Missouri and across back down to Rogers again. We rode for 3 days. We rode till my rider was sore and tired. We rode through a rain storm in Eureka. We rode in the burning hot sun. We never got over a hundred miles from our starting point, but covered hundreds of miles in winding circles. It was beautiful.

#3. i am on the boat this week. i have a crew 'fixing my mizzen mast.' i drove the boat over and had a crane pull the aft mast, the mizzen. (my boat is a ketch - meaning two masts) the one in back - aft, had to be removed to repair the floor in the bathroom. the original design of the boat was poor. it had the mast sitting on the bathroom floor. so after almost 30 years the floor rotted out below the mast and it was sinking down through the floor. (we build a fiberglass plate to sit on the beams and then it will have the mast screwed down onto it, instead of the wood. it will sit where the hole in the floor is.)

My next big adventure scheduled - to help my neighbor move his boat from Kemah, TX all the way over to Marathon Florida. i'll report later on that.

it's hot here with record highs daily. but that's probably true everywhere!

warmest, Skip

lunch yesterday. just because.

Yours has to be the only blog I read where I get to see a bathroom floor...and I am interested.

Yes - record setting heat in Marble Falls also. Worst drought in years. Why does it do this the year I move back to Texas? I'm trying not to take it personally.
