Good bye Charlotte. (hello San Diego)

*see pictured the crew from Charlotte, NC.  they were fun and high energy.  "When they were good, they were very very good.  When they were bad, they were hung over!"  (im not even going to mention the swimming in the Hilton fountain.  i'm sure that never happend.)

On my departure from the hotel i caught a Town Car.  the gentleman driving mentioned that i was a young man...  He was 83 and drove with great authority and command of the vehicle.  i had a nice ride and interesting conversation with him.  he started driving at age 11 "in Charlotte - in the country."  "back then it was all country.  lots of empty dirt roads to drive on.  me and daddy were driving back from the farm and i asked if i could drive, so he let me.  it took awhile but i kept it between the ditches and figured out pretty quick how to do it.  i had been shifting for a long time and the rest just came natural."

So, on this June 17th, a very special happy Fathers Day to all you test pilots out there who taught us all how to keep it between the ditches.  *also thanks for teaching us to KNOW it's wrong to swim in the fountain, even though we might do it sometimes.  with your help, at least we know it's wrong.  (maybe it was the Mom's who told us everything we did wrong?)
