NEW water heater.... Ouch

I replaced the older water heater
with this one ten years ago.
It was as hard as I remembered!
The old unit of ten years ago $250.  The new unit made in France $350, plus tax and warranty.
All my beautiful custom piping to rip out.
The bottom rusted out of the old heater.  I was busy on the boat and could 'hear' the water running.  I checked both bathrooms and the kitchen but didn't have any water running....   The engine room?  Sure enough water was gushing out of the bottom of the water heater.  100 gallons of fresh water just filled the day before was all pumped into the bilge and overboard.  Darn.
Old removed empty spot
NEW and installed with zero leakage.  (after lots of tears and cussing)  note the two black hoses at the bottom of the heater.  that's hot water from the Perkins engine cooling system.  The drive engine circulates it's scalding hot radiator water through the water heater to help cool the engine and to heat the water.  Plus it uses electricity from the generator to heat.
